Copper Water- The Ancient Remedy We All Need

Water is the elixir we need to survive life. It forms up two-thirds of our body and is utilized during our day to day activities such as eating, breathing, etc. We all have heard that we must drink 8 glasses of water on a day to basis. But sometimes we just don’t feel thirsty enough and it leads to dehydration.

Dehydration may have a major effect on your brain and energy level and various other bodily functions. But having said that, are we drinking enough water? Chances of water-borne diseases caused due to bacteria and virus are high during rainy seasons. So, how do we ensure that the water we are drinking is safe and pure? Well, there is a simple and cost-effective solution which has been used by our ancestors for ages.

The use of copper pot for purifying water finds mention in the ancient texts of Ayurveda. As per Ayurveda, water stored in a copper vessel has the ability to balance the three doshas in our body and it is done by positively charging the water. When water is stored in a copper vessel, tiny particles of copper get dissolved into the water making it copper charged. This process is known as the oligodynamic nature and has the ability to destroy a wide range of fungi, molds, algae and harmful microbes.

Storing water in copper utensils not only destroys the harmful bacteria but also provides a number of health benefits. Copper is an essential micronutrient which is required by the human body for its day to day requirement. A regular dose of copper-infused water, stimulates the brain, helps with digestion, promotes bone strength, regulates body fat, regulates the functioning of the thyroid gland, maintains acid-alkaline balance, prevents joint pain, helps in healing internal wounds, aids in hemoglobin synthesis and slows down the aging process due to the antioxidant properties.

It is easy to get started with the habit of drinking copper water. The first step is to get a pure copper pitcher or copper water bottle. Every night before going to bed, fill up your copper vessel with fresh drinking water and keep it overnight. Start your day with a glass of this copper infused water as the first thing in the morning and reap all its amazing benefits.
